Flavor Buffet: 5/21/2021

Hello! Happy Friday!

It’s been a beautiful week around here with abundant sunshine and a summer-like feel, which has been terrific. It’s funny what a few nice days can do for one’s soul. I tried to be outside as much as possible, getting work done from the deck, and took at least two walks every day. I hope the sun was shining for you as well.

The best part of this weather was that it made our yard/garden even happier with fresh flowers blooming daily! I’m a bit of a flower fiend and cannot stop taking photos of the new discoveries each day. What a treat!

This week’s Buffet has a little of everything from skincare suggestions to champagne excitement to fish tacos to a fun-for-summer phone case and more. I hope you find reading it useful, enjoyable, and relaxing.

Have a great weekend!

Keep your eye out for these very stylish, affordable decor items next time you’re wandering the aisles of Target.

Very much enjoyed reading this Beauty Uniform from Stacy London.

This is a great, informative interview with Padma Lakshmi. Her career, and impact on the food industry, is vast and fantastic.

A very useful guide to the best vitamin-C serums. Next time I need to replenish, I’m picking one of these.

The sun is shining, life is getting back to normal (slowly but surely), and everyone should celebrate with champagne.

I recently (finally) jumped on the mustard-fan-club train. Now I want to order these fancy mustards for the pantry.

COOK

I’m fascinated by these halloumi and mint muffins. An upcoming al fresco brunch item for sure.

Grilled steak? Yes, please. 38(!) recipes for my on-the-grill favorite right here.

This rosemary mezcal fizz may become our new, (unofficial) cocktail of the summer.

Summer-like weather has me thinking it’s time for fish taco bowls. ;)

Garlic scapes stir-fry sounds perfect (and seasonal) for dinner tonight.

Strongly considering this lighter creamy cajun chicken pasta for the weekend.

Speaking of creamy, I want to bake these creamy lemon squares for Memorial Day Weekend.

DINE

Now that we are both fully vaccinated, I’m starting to think about where we will go for our first meal out since the pandemic began. I know we will go somewhere with outdoor seating, of course, but other than that I’m not really sure where we will pick for the debut meal. I’m also thinking we may try going for lunch first, since it would be less busy and going out for lunch has always felt a little more luxurious to me. It’s the little things!

Find my guide to takeout, right here. All of these spots are great going out options, too!

SHOP

Outdoor lounging is the name of the game and the J.Crew Seaside Short is the best option for the activity.

Upon further investigation (AKA using it daily), this Peter Thomas Roth hydrating moisturizer is pretty darn great!

I want to replace all of our old (worn) pint glasses with something more classic and these are a strong contender.

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen is my go-to for daily coverage. I’m just about out and might re-order a case of it. Ha!

Contemplating this style T-shirt from Everlane as an alternative to my favorite classic crew.

Is this phone case too flashy? Or nice and fun for summer? Hmm…

After I cut my hair (soon!), I’m considering trying the Prose products that seem to have a fairly big fan base.

Enjoy!
