Flavor Buffet: 2/11/2022

Conveniently, the sky looks just like this today; don’t even notice the photo is from three weeks ago. ;)

Hello! How are you? Happy Friday. It’s a gorgeous one.

Please excuse the break I took from writing this weekly series. My apologies. Flavor Buffet is back and just in time for a very sweet weekend: Valentine’s Day! The “holiday” is on Monday, but let’s all enjoy it during the weekend, shall we? I’ve got some light reading, fun recipes, and few other goodies to get your weekend off to a very sweet start.

Whether or not you’re one to celebrate this funny holiday, it’s definitely an excuse to eat something delicious, spend time with your favorite people (or just on your own), and take minute to relax! The Super Bowl is on Sunday as well so really there’s no excuse: awesome food will be enjoyed. We should probably have some chocolate, too, for good measure.

Have a great (sweet) weekend! I appreciate you being here - make sure to subscribe to the newsletter. It moved to Sunday!

We have been pretty loyal watchers-of-the-Olympics since they began on February 4. It’s so impressive! Are you watching?

Very much looking forward to watching the new limited series (from Shonda Rhimes) about “It Girl” Anna Delvey.

Ranking Bluetooth speakers, which is very important information as someone who is considering one!

Amusing cooking questions, answered!

Cook

Harissa-Honey Popcorn Chicken - this screams Super Bowl to me!

Homemade Queso - Another must-make for Super Bowl viewing. Truly, I just love this stuff.

One Pot Puttanesca - A great option for Valentine’s Day, or any day. Looks delicious!

Spinach Dip and Chips - I could live on chips and dip. May need this for Sunday, too.

Lemon Pepper Parmesan Wings - Go for the gold this weekend and try this wing recipe. Looks superb!

Salted Tahini Honey Chocolate Chunk Cookies - Interesting! I think I may need to make a batch in the name of research. ;)

Watch

2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing - I can’t stop watching! We’re missing a lot of sleep due to staying up late watching these games, but it’s just so good! The athletes are incredible. For the record, I cannot ski. And I’m very afraid of heights.

Inventing Anna - Must start watching this new Netflix series from Shonda Rhimes based on a true story. I can’t wait!

Abbott Elementary - An excellent network comedy on ABC that’s funny, smart, and just plain good.

And Just Like That… - Finally watched the last episode and I have the same thoughts as everyone else: it wasn’t good, but I’d watch another season!

Valentine’s Day gifts can be as big or as little as you’d like. It’s the thought that counts, people! And if you’re not here for the gift ideas, then read this list as things I’m currently loving/wearing/using a lot. :)

Chocolate is pretty “classic,” but how about chocolate-covered espresso beans? I love the ones made by locally-owned-and-operated Taza Chocolate. This sweet treat is organic and gluten free!

Even I have given in to the holiday’s color scheme (pink, red, white) and plan to wear this J.Crew sweater (a hint of pink) on Monday.

It felt like spring today (51 degrees) and that “heat” is amazing! I’ll be wearing this Alex Mill button-back crewneck sweater all weekend.

Very excited to use this Clare V. crossbody (mine is white) now that the sun is shining again.

Need a new hairbrush? I love the Yves Durif vented brush (wonderful gift from a close friend). Makes a great gift for a friend - or for yourself!

Enjoy!

Mollie
