Skincare Update: New Products to Change-up My Routine

It was quite convenient that my need to re-fill a number of my daily-use skincare products aligned perfectly with Sephora’s recent spring savings event. Not only did it allow me to order a few of my favorites that needed to be replaced (on sale), but it provided me with an opportunity to try a few new-to-me brands that I’ve had my eye on for a while. I must admit I’m pretty darn impressed (so far) with all of it. I have used almost everything listed below and am about to use the last product (Origins mask) in the next few days.

If you’re in the market for new skincare products to replace any that have run out or you’re looking for a new version of a specific product, then look no further at this latest roundup. Most products, but not all, below are “Clean at Sephora” if that is important to you. I seek out “clean” ingredients for many skincare products; however, it is not necessarily a dealbreaker. Personally, my goal is to find what works best for my skin type (read: dry, sensitive, red, irritates easily) and am always thrilled when I stumble upon something that works well without bothering my skin.

Biossance

Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum - I had just run out of my vitamin C serum and heard great reviews about this one. I’m using it as part of my morning routine and so far so good!

Squalane + BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner - I was almost out of my SkinCeuticals toner, which I had planned to replace, but it was out of stock everywhere. Rather than skip it, I decided to try one from Biossance. It’s excellent!

Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream - One of my eye creams was just about gone so I decided to try this one instead since I wasn’t too impressed with the last. I’m using this twice daily (morning and night) and I like the consistency a lot. So far I’m a fan!

Farmacy

Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum - while I do have one of these that I use often, I was tempted to try this version from Farmacy. It came recommended by a fashion/beauty blogger that always has excellent tips for skin products.

Filling Good Hyaluronic Acid - I had run out of hyaluronic acid from two other brands that I tried and had not yet replaced it. However, I want to keep it in my routine without spending a fortune. I’ve been using this one or twice daily and I’m hoping it does the trick (for a much better price point).

ILIA

Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 - I saw so many people online boasting about this product that I just had to include it in my order. Picking a color online was tough, but I did the best I could based on other products I have at home. I use this as a base under CC cream since on its own it’s just a bit too minimalist for my taste (and the red spots on my face). However, it goes on smoothly and I love that it includes SPF. Note: I purchased color 4, but after using it for a few days, I think color 5 would be better. Next time!

Limitless Lash Lengthening Mascara - This is the third time I’ve ordered this product. I previously used mascara from Dior, which is great, but I am much happier with this one overall. It doesn’t get in my eyes and goes on easily. I strongly recommend Ilia mascara!

Hyaluronic Cloud Cream Hydrating Moisturizer - As soon as my current daytime moisturizer runs out I will be switching to this for daytime coverage. My skin is very dry so I like using really hydrating products year-round. I heard about this brand from another lifestyle blogger/influencer who repeatedly mentions this line. I used this moisturizer in the evening after washing my face and using the below eye patches - it felt great on my skin and kept it well-hydrated.

Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches - I don’t plan to use these daily, but I love having them as a luxurious option if I feel that the skin around my eyes could use a pick-me-up. I heard great reviews of these so the Sephora sale was a great time to try the product. So far? They felt like nothing on my skin and I removed them after 15 minutes (per the instructions). Here’s to hydration!

Origins Charcoal Honey Mask to Purify and Nourish - While I didn’t really need another mask option added to my basket, I saw this one used repeatedly by someone online, also in her 30s, who has great skin. I added it to my cart and look forward to using it once a week (or more).

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence - I was just about to run out of this product so I caved and re-ordered (it was on sale!). I use this essence daily, after toner, and while I’m not entirely sure what it’s doing, I do like the ritual and it feels nice on my skin. I don’t always use it at night, but always in the morning.

Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream - This moisturizer feels so good on my face! It has a light scent and I usually use it at night when I alternate between a few different thicker moisturizers. I had received it originally as a free sample, and I patiently waited until the Sephora sale to order the full size. Worth the wait! For all of my fellow dry skin friends out there, this is a great product.

Skincare is so personal. Much like so many products we all use every day, every body is different and what works best for me may not be best for you. That is OK! I hope you’ll take these suggestions as purely that: suggestions. There is a terrific skincare routine out there for everyone. It may just take some time to create the best routine for you.

Enjoy!
