Flavor Buffet: 11/19/2021

Hello and happy Friday!

Well, we’re less than a week away from Thanksgiving. How!? Where does time go?! Why is everyone shoving holiday shopping in my face when I haven’t even eaten my weight in (gluten free) stuffing and desserts? 2021 has been quite a year and even now (still) there’s this overall feeling to rush everything and skip along to the next event. Yikes! I can’t keep up.

Admittedly, I have begun the thought process of holiday shopping. But that’s because everything is already sold out! I looked for an item recently and it was sold out at nearly every single store I checked. How?! I feel late to the party and overly anxious for an activity that tends to bring me an immense amount of joy. So, instead of living in that state of panic, I’m going to take a breath, share this new Buffet, and think about the holidays…later. Like tomorrow.

I hope you’re doing well and taking all of this in stride. The holidays are a fun time of year; maybe we need to put less stress on the whole darn thing. Thanksgiving is first, regardless, so let’s get into that thankful mood, make some pie, and gather with our favorite people. Sounds delightful to me. :)

The holiday season is upon us - time for your booster.

Did you watch the Adele One Night Only special last Sunday night? It was an incredible concert (viewed from my couch) as well as a pretty good interview with Oprah. Adele is awesome and so, so talented.

Ten Most Recommended Beauty Products, which are all excellent gifts for your friends and family, but maybe for yourself, too. ;)

I love this gift guide for men because Seth does, indeed, make chicken Parm. I’m lucky!

Ever consider pepperoni for something other than pizza? You should!

A roundup of the best kitchen/cooking gifts could be very helpful! I wouldn’t mind a new spatula…

Alicia Keys is one of my favorite singers, and such a good person. Her home, which she shares with husband Swizz Beatz, is equally fabulous. Those views!

Friends, I’m saving this piece on how to host a New Year’s Eve dinner party. Now that we have our own house, maybe it’s finally time to start hosting those dinner parties… :)

Cook

Recipes for before, after, or during Thanksgiving - your choice!

Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes with Caramelized Onions - I think this should be on everyone’s table this holiday season.

Baked Butter Pecan French Toast - this recipe just screams “Sunday Brunch.”

Spicy Garlic Green Beans - for the requisite veggie, but make it delicious.

Drop Cornbread Biscuits - might need to make these for the weekend before Thanksgiving. ;)

Pork and Pepper Stir-Fry - would love this for dinner tonight, or next week, or any time. Yum!

Coconut Shrimp - I think we need to make these because who wouldn’t love coconut shrimp?

Watch

This is Us comes back, for the final season, in early January. Who else is psyched?

The Morning Show is just a wild, intense, crazy ride and it’s entertaining, but also frustrating.

Ghosts continues to make us laugh and keep things light.

The Shrink Next Door is a must-watch on Apple TV+ starring Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd.

We’re late to the Curb Your Enthusiasm club, but omg it’s incredibly funny (we started with the current, 11th, season).

Gift ideas? Right this way…

Who wouldn’t love a luxe cashmere hat (beanie) for the winter? I love the heather olive and light camel colors.

And if you’re more of a pom-pom fan for your (very warm) hat, I’d recommend one of these…

Summersalt’s new (ultra-cozy) loungewear sets have caught my eye and I want to wear one for every holiday.

This LL Bean down coat is a great deal (cozy sherpa and so many pockets) if you’re looking for a long coat for long winter walks.

Honestly, every sweater at Sezane is beautiful. Their shipping, from France, is pretty quick too, so I’d recommend taking a peek.

Considering a Hotel Lobby Paris Votive Trio for everyone on my list. So chic and I love that there are three different scents.

This cashmere waffle henley is on my wish list. Looks so soft and comfy!

Coming soon - my favorite cookbooks to give this season. :)

Have a great weekend and enjoy!
