Hello and happy Friday!

While the scene outside my window right now is nothing like the image above, I’m hopeful that the current snowy scene is brief. I’m not yet ready to say goodbye to fall! The weather is a tricky beast sometimes. And while snow isn’t impossible for the end of October, it’s not exactly welcome. ;)

Moving on! Today’s Buffet has some excellent treats for your Halloween weekend - no tricks here - including pumpkin bars I need to make tonight and a favorite candy declaration. Plus, the Sephora sale starts today, the best natural deodorant, and a jacket I’ve been eyeing…

Have a great weekend!

Please be safe, wear a mask, and have fun.

Last week I got a couple new dessert cookbooks, and now I’m eyeing a few on this great list of new releases.

Grab your mask and get yourself to the polls…it’s time to vote! And who knows, if you’re in NYC, pizza may be available, too.

The Boston dining scene is ever-changing during the pandemic.

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know we’ve recently started watching Veep from the very beginning (I did not watch it back when it was new). I love this show! Here’s a list of every HBO show in case you also need a new-to-you series to begin watching.

Here is a very helpful list/guide to the best sustainable clothing brands for women.

COOK

I think we need to make these scallion pancakes for Halloween dinner. They look delicious!

It’s never a bad idea to make chicken and broccoli for dinner. This super-popular takeout dish is even better when you make it at home.

When will I stop procrastinating and just bake these Neapolitan cookies? They look so good!

And on the topic of October baking, I am suddenly craving these pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting.

Never thought of this, but thankfully someone else did: creamed corn and pepperoni pizza (pie). Wowza!

DINE

I’m not sure where the weekend will take us (not far), but a bag of fries on Halloween is pretty tempting. I’d also consider getting an order of breakfast tacos. And if we’re really looking for adventure, we could go get fried seafood, which will feel oddly out of season, but will definitely be delicious.

Here’s my takeout guide for reference!

Truth: my favorite (the best) Halloween candy is Reese’s peanut butter cups. Forever and always.

SHOP

The big Sephora sale starts today for Rouge members (!) and it seems to be that basically everything is 20% off. Not a bad deal! This is your reminder to get browsing and gathering. I’m considering a new eye cream, a very popular essence, and a highly-recommended exfoliator from goop.

On the subject of personal hygiene, I’m about to re-order my favorite natural deodorant from Ursa Major. It’s great!

Working on changing up my shoe choice every day and recently started wearing this pair of platform sneakers again. Very lightweight and comfortable!

One of my new cookbooks features a collection of extremely decadent desserts. What should I bake first?

I’ve been looking at this faux-fur jacket for months. Still undecided…

Enjoy!
