Flavor Buffet: 11/6/2020

What. A. Week. I am so glad it’s Friday. Not only did we have daylight savings last week, which had me waking up way too early every morning, but the election, well, has had me on edge to say the least. How about some distractions? In my opinion, they are very welcome at this point.

If I could focus enough to bake, then I’m sure my kitchen would be covered in cookies. I’m too all over the place for stress-baking so instead I’m bringing you a very light-hearted (but still helpful) Buffet. I hope you enjoy it.

Have a great weekend! And of course, wear a mask.

READ

Maybe you didn’t know, but yesterday was National Doughnut Day. Don’t worry. I’m sure you could still celebrate today (or all weekend).

A very big list (that keeps growing) of the best items to order from Sephora’s holiday savings event. My personal cart was small, but included a handful of items I can’t wait to begin using (link below).

This book about Ultimate Cocktails seems like a very good gift for almost everyone I know right now.

Why haven’t we been freezing caramelized onions into ice cube trays?! This is a great idea.

Thankful for Cup of Jo and this relaxing roundup.

COOK

Maybe you’d feel better from cooking? Here are a few suggestions…

I think we all need a massive bowl of mascarpone mashed potatoes tonight. Or every night.

Totally understand a need for noodles right now. How about coconut, ginger, and mushroom noodles?

When all else fails, make a dessert (cake). I’d love to try this Dalgona Frosted Fudge Cake. Wowza.

Finally, if you’re feeling like a culinary adventure, then I recommend making your own general tso’s chicken. This looks incredible.

DINE

Last night we ordered takeout sushi, which was delicious. Since it’s going to be beautiful this weekend, I think we may get breakfast tacos and omelettes for breakfast and eat outside. And while we’ve definitely been cooking up a storm for dinner, we might need to order from one of our local favorites.

Be sure to support your local small businesses and restaurants as much as possible. Every takeout order counts!

Find my guide to takeout, right here.

SHOP

As mentioned above, the Sephora sale is still going on - yay! Here’s my roundup of the products I ordered and some that I’m still considering before the sale ends on Monday (11/9).

Secretly hoping that this color-block cashmere sweater will eventually (possibly?) go on sale.

Of course, Madewell is now offering my favorite denim in a stretch edition. Wish they’d announced this a little earlier in the season. ;)

In no way do I need this coat, but I sure do like it! (Coat roundup coming soon).

Fear not, a holiday gift guide will be made this year. But here’s a sneak peek: 100 Cookies is a wonderful gift for the cookie-loving-baker in your life. :)

Enjoy!

Mollie
