Hello!

Happy Friday (it’s still Friday by my watch), Happy Thanksgiving, and happy holidays! Yes, now that we’re past Thanksgiving (full of delicious food and more joy than anticipated), it’s officially the holiday season and the generic, but still thoughtful, phrase ‘happy holidays’ is entirely acceptable from now through December 31. :)

This week’s Buffet offers joyful reading, recipes that skew sweet for the season, and plenty of shopping assistance as the Black Friday sales are plentiful. I understand everyone’s shopping plans vary greatly, but I would never want you to miss out on a great deal (especially this year). I’m sharing a handful of the terrific sales, below.

Have a great weekend and happy holidays! Please wear a mask. :)

READ

This is a terrific list of 100 excellent products (AKA gifts no one would dare return).

Cookbooks make great gifts for those that love spending time in the kitchen (or just love to read, honestly). Here are eight new titles written by chefs and/or industry pros.

There seems to be a Mass-exodus to Vermont - especially among those native to Massachusetts.

Tracey Wigfield is bringing back Saved by the Bell and I can’t wait!

COOK

We’re not going to bars right now, so we may need to make this vanilla espresso martini throughout December.

I made cookies and cakes for Thanksgiving, but truly avoided pie. I’ve never made one! Perhaps this black-bottom chocolate mousse pie should be my first, just in time for the holidays.

While we don’t have any turkey, I might need to buy some to make this turkey, brie, and pesto panini. Yum!

In my frequent pursuit for tame, but delicious cookies, I have stumbled upon goat butter shortbread. Off to the grocery store…

DINE - at home!

How about ordering takeout? Purchasing a gift card to a local favorite? There are so many ways to support the restaurant industry right now even if you do not plan to dine outside your own home. Small Business Saturday, November 28, is a great day to support local, small businesses that really need our support. Order takeout, order delivery, or have a picnic in the car (my favorite), just be sure to support the restaurants this holiday season. They will really appreciate it.

SHOP

My 2020 Holiday Gift Guide is coming oh-so-soon, but here’s a roundup of excellent sales to peruse in the meantime…

A friendly reminder to support your local, small businesses as well. I know the big sales are super helpful, but if you’re able, then please also shop the small, independent shops. They have unique and stellar gifts and often the kindest, most appreciative customer service.

J.Crew is offering 50% off of your purchase with code FRIDAY and free shipping.

Madewell has up to 50% off on a variety of styles.

Jenni Kayne is offering 20% off your purchase with code THANKFUL.

Vince has 30% off of your purchase with code NOVEMBER30.

Dudley Stephens (a CT-based, women-owned business) is offering a free gift with $150 purchase this weekend (and I hear they’re having a big drop on Monday 11/30 with possible discount included).

Dermstore is having their holiday event featuring up to 30% off your purchase with code SHARETHELOVE.

Beauty Counter is offering 15% off site-wide and free shipping for orders over $50.

Necessaire is including a free The Body Serum with every purchase through Monday, 11/30. Do it! This Serum is amazing for super-dry skin (like mine). I’d recommend ordering The Body Lotion, too.

Enjoy!

Mollie
