Flavor Buffet: 8/6/2021

Hello! Happy Friday. It has been quite the week around here and I couldn’t be happier the weekend has arrived. And the sun has returned. Hooray!

August is turning out to be the busiest month of the summer, only six days in so far, and I’m bracing myself for the somewhat-packed schedule we’ve got for the next several weeks. In the meantime, let me share with you this week’s Buffet which is an ideal set of reading for a relaxing weekend. Let’s get to it!

Thinking of catching a show on Broadway this fall? Sounds fun! Be sure to get your vaccine before the show and bring a mask.

We are about to paint our main bathroom a very neutral shade (for now), but what about a brighter color in the future?

It’s never a bad idea to keep a bottle of water with you on-the-go. Here’s a helpful guide to finding the best one for your lifestyle. Hydration is very important!

Over in the world of Dream Homes, let’s fantasize about designing outdoor kitchens!

Honestly, the phrase “face oil” has never sounded enticing to me, but I finally added one to my daily routine and I’m slowly understanding the hype. Here’s a good roundup of excellent options if you’re currently in the market for face oil. :)

COOK

One of my never-fail favorite weeknight meals is this beef and broccoli stir-fry which is just amazing and delicious.

On a more summery note, we will be making this Spicy Corn and Cucumber Gazpacho immediately.

Fresh, local corn is king this month so perhaps we’ll make a Mexican corn and quinoa salad as well.

Who wouldn’t want a platter of fresh crab nachos?

If you’re in the mood for meatless, I’d suggest this zucchini butter spaghetti. Yum!

Appetizers are my favorite part of any menu which is why I’d like to make these stuffed mini peppers for dinner.

DINE

Admittedly, we haven’t been anywhere new lately, but we’ve been frequenting our favorites! I’m working on a revised Bar Bites Local guide, which will be out soon, and will feature my must-visit local restaurants for great (gluten free) food and the best atmosphere for a fun night (or day) out. Stay tuned!

SHOP

Back on the nightstand hunt, this simple design from Serena & Lily may work well for our bedroom.

I really like the texture on these neutral-tone pillow covers.

Strongly considering this basic navy zip-up sweatshirt as a birthday gift to myself.

I’m tempted to order the new Biossance cleanser as I’m almost out of mine and I’ve been really enjoying their products.

A new favorite pastime is browsing the mini rug selection at Old New House. Which one(s) should I order?!

Have a great weekend and enjoy!
