Flavor Buffet: 2/5/2021

IMG_3043.jpeg

Hello! Happy Friday! Please enjoy the blue sky above because it’s actually been a fairly cloudy, and snowy, week. However, today isn’t freezing and it’s giving me a glimpse of hope for the eventual arrival of spring. I know it’s early February, but let me have that hope. In other news, the Super Bowl is on Sunday, Valentine’s Day is a little over a week away, and the Pandemic is still very much happening. Wear a mask!

Shifting things again, we continue to enjoy living in our new house and I’m still researching decor 24/7. This week’s Buffet brings the variety (as it should) including snacks for the game on Sunday, ideas for Valentine’s Day (no plans necessary), and a peek into some of the items I’m considering (and buying) for our house.

Have a great weekend! Please wear a mask and stay healthy.

Keeping this gift list nearby as Valentine’s Day is around the corner and Seth’s birthday is not long after. I know he wants things for the house, but something from this guide may be fun, too.

Very interested in this pan-fried pizza concept…

A home tour that’s filled with Earth tones and neutrals. I just love the design choices in every room.

Here’s a convenient guide to buying great chocolate online. There’s still time!

An extensive list of appetizers you could make for the Super Bowl (no party required). Which ones would you make?

Keeping the kitchen organized is a priority for many of us (although not always easy to achieve). I’m keeping this list of brands in mind next time I need to buy a new drawer organizer.

COOK

No matter how you will be spending Valentine’s Day this year, there’s a strong chance you will be at home (along with everyone else who lives with you). So why not cook something special? Here is a list of 67 awesome meals for February 14. The creamy shrimp risotto is superb. :)

Other ideas…

Chicken and Mushroom Sauced Noodles with Thai Basil - sounds delicious!

Roasted Vegetable Lasagne - for a meatless option!

Smoky Chipotle Chicken Chili - perfect for football-watching or a fun Valentine’s Day meal.

Ultimate Nachos - The “ultimate” Super Bowl snack/meal. But I’d love them any day of the week.

Sheet Pan Buffalo Chicken Pizza - I think we need to make this tomorrow night!

Vanilla Tiramisu Cake - A dessert I need to bake. Just need to find my cake pans…

DINE out - at home!

While we will most likely be cooking for Valentine’s Day, I know many of you may prefer to get takeout, delivery, or have a sweet car picnic. All good options! If you’d rather skip the cooking and cleanup, I am happy to offer alternatives. Supporting the restaurant industry is extremely important!

I will probably purchase some goodies from local shops even though we will be cooking the “official” meal. Not only is supporting restaurants a good idea these days, small, independent shops need our help too. Shop local!

SHOP

My usual plan for Valentine’s Day tends to include homemade cards and a batch of cookies, but stay tuned next week for non-homemade gift options if that’s more your style. Basically, no one will say “no thanks” to a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers. ;)

No surprise here: home decor research continues to dominate my brain. I’ve been holding polls on my Instagram stories (have you been voting?) when I’m debating between two pieces which is proving very helpful.

I consistently have about twelve tabs open with various links to rugs, mirrors, and home tours, and I’m frequently scrolling interior design ideas while watching TV at night. A little intense, right? Well, that’s just who I am right now. I know decor takes time. I just like to see all (and I mean all) of my options, including…

Thinking about this rug for my home office.

Do I need a couple of these baskets? Effortless, in-view storage that’s stylish and practical.

My office is doubling as a workout space, but I’m thinking about ordering a treadmill for another bedroom (Seth’s office).

Planning to order this mirror for our guest bathroom. I love this color and the helpful shelf.

Considering a couple of these pillows for our bed, or the couch. It’s a simple design, but I love it.
