Flavor Buffet: 4/9/2021

For a week that started off grey and cloudy and is ending with abundant sunshine, warmth, a woodchuck, and more excitement, I’d say it was overall a good (and busy) week! Plans for the weekend include some baking, some lounging, some errands, and I’m not sure what else. I can only refresh the shipping status of our outdoor furniture so many times each hour, you know? ;)

Speaking of the outdoors, we continue to work away at improving our yard which is not nearly as quick a process as I had hoped. I didn’t (entirely) assume it would magically happen overnight, but it’s taking plenty of effort and energy daily. I’m grateful for the good weather to work outside and Seth’s determination!

Enough of my outdoor ramblings; let’s get to the Buffet. This week we’re checking out some current events, recipes ripe for the making, and some spring browsing. It’s time to break out the spring wardrobe! Some of mine has been waiting patiently in the attic…

Have a great weekend! Please continue to wear a mask if you go out and go get that vaccine when it’s your turn. I can’t wait!

Isn’t it general knowledge that Ponzi schemes will never end well?

Good illustrations and even better advice.

I think it may be time to switch up my breakfast routine with one of these ideas.

Someday our freezer will have more in it than just ice cream, bread, and very frozen flowers from our wedding cake (fact). Therefore, I assume, someday we will need to organize it.

If anyone else needs this, I’m reading this piece on repeat about how to fix my dry hair. I know I need a haircut, but until then…

COOK

Here’s my latest blog post sharing a big list of my favorite online sources for recipe inspiration!

This Maui Kale Salad sounds really good even though I don’t often reach for raw kale.

Anything called a Hand Salad is something worth considering making. This sounds so fresh and delicious!

Probably making Buffalo Cauliflower Tacos next week. Yup.

Drooling over this Chinese Braised Chicken with Mushrooms. Adding to the “Make this ASAP” list right now.

I’ve always wanted Moo Shu Chicken at home. It’s about time we make it!

Coffee Blondie Skillet looks heavenly if you ask me…

DINE

Someday in the not-too-distant future (eventually) we will travel again. Shortly before the world changed in 2020, we had booked (then canceled) a weekend in NYC. I cannot wait to go back and visit my most-favorite city that I’ve been traveling to since I was 6! Did you know I have three(!) dining guides to New York? Check them out, below.

Note: Given the pandemic, be sure to contact a restaurant directly or visit their website for the most up-to-date hours and information.

Bar Bites: NYC Volume I

Bar Bites: NYC Volume II (I do know Augustine has since closed, sadly).

Bar Bites: NYC Volume III

SHOP

Strongly considering this fun rug from Lulu and Georgia for the other side of my office that seems a bit bare. I’ll add a comfy chair and ottoman eventually, too.

The Spring Event at Sephora starts today for rouge-level insiders. Currently curating a small cart of the essentials!

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of Molly Baz’s first cookbook! Her recipes are consistently stellar.

Maybe, just maybe, I finally found bedside tables that are the right size, chic, and fun.

I like these chairs for the kitchen. Not something we need today, but I like the style a lot.

Truth: I love pants. Good to know that the great high-rise slim crop boyjean is back at Madewell. In my opinion, this fit is fantastic.

Enjoy!
