Flavor Buffet: 6/26/20
Happy Friday, everyone!
Summer is in full-swing, shorts are a necessity, it’s hot out, and I’m constantly seeking a glass of cold water. Gotta stay hydrated! I hope you are able to enjoy this week’s Buffet while sitting outside, or in the comfort of your own home; whichever is most relaxing to you!
While our weekends aren’t too busy, I do plan to be outdoors a lot and perhaps find a shady spot to enjoy an ice cream. Also, our grocery list includes a summertime essential: popsicles!

Do we still need paper menus at restaurants? An interesting read as outdoor dining becomes more prevalent.
Now that we’ve been implementing “balcony cocktail hour” on Friday afternoons, I think we may need to buy a couple of these books to read up on all of the classics we should create at home.
Speaking of eating outside, here’s a helpful discussion about having a picnic this summer, safely.

Salted Key Lime Pie - the heat we’ve been having is making me crave the cold desserts. This pie may be making an appearance soon (just make sure to buy GF pretzels and graham crackers).
Avocado Corn Salsa - definitely including this next time we make burrito bowls!
Blueberry Scones - Summertime is berry season and it’s about time I get to baking with them.

Admittedly, we did not order takeout last weekend so I don’t have an update for you ( no new restaurants have been visited). However, if you’re interested, there are plenty of places in/around Boston (and beyond) that are now offering outdoor dining.
I’m not willing to venture for patio dining these days, but I am considering ordering the following dishes to either eat in the car or take to the park. Or eat in the car on the way to the park.

A platter of pulled pork from Sweet Cheeks Q.
Calamari and Fried Shrimp from Woodman’s of Essex.

This is the deodorant I’m using daily. It’s wicked hot this summer and I’ve made the switch to a natural option (that works!).
My usual Birkenstocks are a neutral tone, but I can’t get this pair off my mind. Too shiny? Or just plain fun?
